Walk to End Alzheimer’s
Sponsored by Santa Clarita Walk to End Alzheimer’s, this annual fundraiser for the Alzheimer’s foundation is our major cause. We participate and fundraise annually.
Very Special Senior (VSS)
Every year we work with two seniors, chosen by nomination via committee, to join us for our VSS program. Going forward we hope to increase the number of seniors involved.
Mobile Crafting
Monthly crafting activities and educational sessions. We are looking to expand to additional locations. Crafting allows social interaction and emotional support all in a safe and recognized environment. It will also build confidence that will allow seniors to extend their comfort zone. The event requires sponsors or funding from the facility and is free to participants.

Seniors In Service
This monthly program was created to empower seniors through service to others. Participants propose a volunteer project and if eligible we provide support in any way possible. We assist in researching, setting up and scheduling volunteer opportunities. Though the work does not need to directly support our mission, the requesting participant MUST already be involved in our organization in some way.
This program addresses several important key factors:
- productive, active participation in all aspects of economic, social and community life
- self-reliance/self-determination
- recognition as an actively contributing member of society
- a positive outlook about self and future
- good physical and mental health and ability to function
- mutually supportive social relationships and contacts
- financial security
- safe and supportive environment/community to live and work
The first iteration of this program took place at Lancaster Fire Department Station 33 – 44947.
